Paloma is committed to delivering project management and inspection services with safety at the forefront. Our Health, Safety, and Environmental program is built on experience, accountability, and continuous improvement, ensuring our personnel consistently meet and exceed client expectations.

Our HSE program is led by Darrell Ellender, HSE Manager, who brings over 27 years of industry experience. His background includes developing and implementing comprehensive HSE management systems, leading incident prevention initiatives, and supporting offshore construction, commissioning, and maintenance operations. His leadership drives a proactive safety culture across every project.

Field Personnel Standards

Every member of the Paloma team undergoes a thorough onboarding and compliance process to ensure they are fully prepared for the field. This includes:

1. Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, followed by random testing
2. Background checks
3. Medical evaluation to verify and maintain Fit-for-Duty status
4. Ongoing monitoring to ensure continued compliance
5. Completion of required HSE training and certifications

Comprehensive HSE Training

Paloma maintains a robust and continuously evolving training program designed to keep our personnel prepared, compliant, and safety-focused in all environments. Core training includes:

1. Fall Protection with Rescue
2. First Aid, CPR, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens
3. Fire Fighting (Incipient)
4. Water Survival (OPITO)
5. Rigging (API RP 2D) and Scaffolding Awareness
6. SEMS I & II and Safe Gulf/Rig Pass
7. Lockout/Tagout and Air Monitoring
8. Hazard Identification and Incident Investigation
9. Piping & Vessel Isolation
10. Hazardous Material Handling and Shipping
11. Client-specific training and Safe Work Practices
